What to Ask for in a Written GLP-1 Quote Before You Enroll

A useful quote identifies the exact drug and supply, the first charge, later billing dates, separate fees, exclusions and renewal rules—not just a monthly headline price.

Before authorizing a GLP-1 payment, ask for something more useful than a screenshot of the advertised price: a written quote that explains what you are buying and what happens next. The essential question is not simply, “How much per month?” It is, “What amount will you collect, on what date, for which medication and services, and under what cancellation and refund terms?” A clear answer should distinguish enrollment, clinical review, prescribing, pharmacy fulfillment and future renewals.

Public documentation from CoreAge Rx, Ro, Enhance.MD, Sesame, Walgreens and Found shows why those distinctions matter. Some programs separate membership from medication; others bundle compounded medication with care. Some advertise monthly equivalents while collecting for longer plans, and some use 28-day cycles. Several publish inconsistent descriptions of payment or cancellation. The examples below come from pages consulted October 19, 2026. They are reasons to request precise terms, not confirmation that every advertised offer remains available or applies to you.

At a glance

Separate membership from medicine
Ro advertises a $39 first membership month, followed by $149 monthly on its monthly plan; medication is additional. Its membership rate as low as $74/month requires annual prepayment.

Check the actual billing interval
Enhance.MD labels Core options as one, three, six and 12 months, but specifies billing every four, 12, 24 and 48 weeks, respectively.

Resolve refund contradictions
CoreAge Rx's FAQ promises an automatic 100% refund if prescribing is not approved; its refund policy retains an applicable $50–$100 consultation fee.

Preserve cancellation notice
Sesame's general membership terms require a cancellation request by email or phone at least 48 hours before renewal processing, while its program page describes self-cancellation before the next cycle.

No subscription does not mean one payment
Walgreens advertises initial weight-management visits starting at $49, with follow-up chat visits and additional video visits at $49 each; medication is separate.

Start with the amount you authorize today

Ask the provider to state the exact initial collection, whether it is a completed charge or another payment step, and what happens if treatment is not approved. Ro illustrates why sequencing needs clarification: its pricing page offers a refund of the initial $39 if someone is ineligible, but also says membership is charged only if eligible. Those statements do not establish a single, unambiguous payment sequence. Request the sequence applicable to your checkout rather than choosing the more favorable wording.

Then separate today's charge from the ongoing arrangement. Ro advertises membership at $149 monthly after the first month on its monthly plan, or monthly equivalents of $99 prepaid every three months, $89 prepaid every six months, and as low as $74 with annual prepayment. Medication is excluded. Ask for the actual collection amount and next charge date for your chosen option. Our guide to billing commitments explains why a monthly equivalent is not necessarily a monthly payment.

Name the medicine, not just the program

A quote labeled only “GLP-1 treatment” leaves too much unresolved. Request the drug name, whether it is branded or compounded, its route, ingredients and physical presentation. CoreAge Rx describes compounded semaglutide administered by subcutaneous injection, and says its compounded tirzepatide is typically formulated with B-12. A version without B-12 depends on discussion with the provider. Enhance.MD distinguishes Core semaglutide, Advanced compounded tirzepatide and Elite, an injectable combination of semaglutide and tirzepatide. Those are not interchangeable product descriptions.

Keep regulatory status separate from contractual detail. FDA says compounded preparations are not FDA approved and do not undergo its premarket review for safety, effectiveness and quality. Nonapproval alone does not establish clinical inequivalence. FDA recommends compounded drugs for patients whose medical needs cannot be met by an approved drug, with a prescription and a state-licensed pharmacy. A complete quote helps identify the proposed purchase; it does not establish that the formulation is appropriate or that it will produce a particular result.

Put supply and billing on separate lines

Ask how much medication each fill contains and how many days or weeks it covers, separately from the plan's advertised duration. Walgreens gives a concrete distinction: its oral Wegovy offer defines a monthly fill as one bottle of 30 tablets for 30 days. Its injectable Wegovy offer defines a fill as 28 days. Its Zepbound KwikPen offer also defines a monthly supply as 28 days and one KwikPen. These descriptions identify different presentations and supply periods, even when all are marketed using monthly language.

Enhance.MD's Core page says the subscription includes four weeks of semaglutide and advertises delivery every four weeks. But its plans labeled one, three, six and 12 months specify billing every four, 12, 24 and 48 weeks. The quoted monthly figures are $249, $237, $224 and $212, respectively. Longer options advertise $100 off the first order plus plan-specific percentage discounts; the one-month option advertises $50 off. Ask for the complete checkout schedule. A plan label alone establishes neither shipment quantity nor minimum commitment.

Itemize included services and remaining fees

The quote should distinguish access to care from medication and other charges. Ro's membership includes a personalized plan, insurance concierge, provider messaging, check-ins, coaching and laboratory testing if necessary, but not medication. Walgreens takes a different approach: no subscription is required, initial visits start at $49, and follow-up chat visits and additional video visits cost $49 each. Its separate 24/7 pharmacy-expert chat does not establish that clinical follow-up is free or that a prescriber is immediately available.

Laboratory inclusion can also have geographic boundaries. Success by Sesame includes laboratory work at Quest Diagnostics except at its facilities in Arizona, Hawaii, North Dakota, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota and Wyoming; laboratory charges there are additional. Found's compounded plans exclude applicable labs, while insured visits can involve copays, coinsurance and deductibles. Ask for a line-by-line statement covering visits, tests, injection supplies, shipping and missed appointments. Found's billing consent, for example, specifies a $30 fee for missed consultations or cancellation with less than 24 hours' notice.

Attach the conditions to any promotional price

A promotional quote should include who qualifies, the eligible presentation, expiration, supply period and subsequent price. Walgreens advertises injectable Wegovy at $199 per fill for the first two fills, limited to eligible new self-pay users and the 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg presentations, through December 31, 2026. Subsequent fills are advertised at $349 monthly; each fill covers 28 days, and visits are separate. These presentation amounts identify offer conditions, not instructions about which treatment a reader should use.

Insurance language needs equally careful handling. Ro currently limits insurance-concierge coverage pathways to Wegovy pen, Zepbound autoinjector pen and Ozempic; insurance does not cover its membership. Sesame's Wegovy/Ozempic injection promotion excludes people enrolled in federal or state healthcare programs with prescription coverage, and discounts medication rather than subscription fees. Ask whether your proposed price is cash-pay, a manufacturer offer or an insurance estimate, and obtain all applicable exclusions. Our guide to promotional conditions explains how to preserve those qualifications.

Identify the pharmacy and its role in the price

Ask which pharmacy will fill the prescription and whether the quote depends on using that channel. CoreAge Rx's FAQ says prescriptions must use its affiliated network and cannot currently go to a local pharmacy. Its terms, however, allow a pharmacy of the patient's choosing if requested by email before completing the order. That conflict needs a written answer before payment. Enhance.MD permits a chosen pharmacy but says the patient will then be billed directly for medication, which changes the meaning of an advertised medication-inclusive package.

Also request the fulfillment timeline and delivery-problem policy. Ro says cash-pay prescriptions sent to its or partner pharmacies ship within a week once prescribed; that is dispatch, not arrival. CoreAge Rx separately estimates approximately two to three business days of transit after pharmacy shipment, with earlier review and preparation adding time. Its policy describes case review for lost or damaged packages, not unconditional replacement. For injectable products arriving warm or inadequately refrigerated, FDA explicitly advises not using them and contacting the provider or dispensing pharmacy.

Write down the next renewal and cancellation deadline

Request the next charge date, renewal amount, cancellation method and required advance notice. Sesame's program page describes self-cancellation before the next cycle, but its general membership terms require email or telephone cancellation at least 48 hours before renewal processing. Those terms also deny prorated refunds for the current paid term. Its program documentation alternately describes monthly billing and advance billing every 28 days. A written quote should settle both the calendar and the process rather than simply promise that cancellation is possible.

Enhance.MD's FAQ describes automatic renewal every 28 days, while product pages advertise longer billing intervals; its terms direct patients to checkout for full subscription conditions. Found recommends canceling or pausing at least 48 hours before the scheduled renewal and makes renewal payments nonrefundable. Walgreens, despite offering consultations without a subscription, describes automatic next-month prescription fills after an approved Bridge fill through Walgreens. Ask separately about stopping membership billing and pharmacy refills. The cancellation-notice guide covers why these are different instructions.

Require an order-specific refund explanation

Ask what happens if you are ineligible, change your mind, cannot complete documentation or are approved for an alternative rather than your preferred drug. CoreAge Rx's FAQ promises a full refund after nonapproval, but its policy retains an applicable $50–$100 consultation fee. Its policy also makes prescription sales final after approval and transmission to the pharmacy—even before shipment—and generally closes refunds 30 calendar days after purchase regardless of completion, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Canceling future renewals does not reverse those order rules.

Other guarantees have narrower triggers than their headlines suggest. Enhance.MD promises 100% of the initial payment back if onboarding determines ineligibility. Found says rejection for a preferred medication does not qualify for a membership refund if other treatment options remain available. Ask for the precise refund amount and processing timeline; CoreAge Rx's five-to-10-business-day processing estimate allows additional bank time. Keep the response with your receipt and accepted terms. Our guide to refund boundaries distinguishes cancellation, eligibility guarantees and medication-order finality.

Questions & answers

What should a CoreAge Rx quote clarify first?

Ask which charge and refund rules apply. Its FAQ describes both payment before clinical review and medication billing at shipment. It also promises a 100% nonapproval refund that conflicts with the policy's applicable $50–$100 nonrefundable consultation fee. Request the actual amount collected and retained under your order.

Does Ro's membership price include medication?

No. Ro explicitly separates medication from membership. Ask for both charges, the chosen membership payment schedule and any drug-price conditions. Its advertised oral Wegovy starting price of $149 monthly is cash-pay only, limited to new patients and lower-dose presentations for a limited time; higher-dose prices increase.

Sources: [2] [8]
What should Enhance.MD explain about a longer plan?

Request the actual collection amount, billing dates, shipment schedule and treatment of unused prepaid periods. The lowest Core monthly figure corresponds to a plan labeled 12 months but billed every 48 weeks. Public documentation does not establish the full upfront total or proportional refund rules for every longer option.

Which Sesame cancellation deadline should I ask about?

Ask Sesame to reconcile program self-cancellation before the next cycle with the general membership requirement for email or phone notice at least 48 hours before renewal processing. The initial-visit refund rule is separate: the program promises a full refund when canceled at least three hours before that visit starts.

What needs to be added to a Walgreens medication quote?

Add the applicable consultation charges and ask which future visits will be needed. Initial visits start at $49, and follow-up chats and additional video visits cost $49 each. Insurance is not currently accepted for Weight Management visits, even though eligible commercially insured patients may receive medication prior-authorization support.

Does Found's “with insurance” compounded price mean the drug is insured?

No. Found says those prices reflect coverage for clinical care, while its billing consent makes patients responsible for compounded GLP-1 charges and prohibits submitting those amounts to insurance. Ask for plan charges, visit copays and other cost sharing separately, and reconcile annual-prepayment advertising with the terms' 28-day billing descriptions.

Our assessment

A useful written quote makes the transaction understandable without requiring you to reconcile competing advertisements. It identifies the product and supply, separates medication from care charges, states actual collection dates and preserves the conditions attached to discounts. It also explains what cancellation stops and which payments remain nonrefundable. The providers examined document many of these elements, but unresolved contradictions and missing checkout terms limit certainty. Ask for a dated, order-specific explanation and retain it with the terms you accept. Contract clarity supports an informed purchase; it does not guarantee prescribing, insurance coverage, delivery timing or clinical results.
