Ondra Health Review: What Its GLP-1 Plans Commit You to Paying

Ondra publishes clear plan prices for compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, but pharmacy transmission, automatic renewal and prepaid-plan refund rules matter as much as the advertised monthly equivalent.

At Ondra Health, the most consequential transaction milestone is not the arrival of a package. It is the point when an approved prescription goes to a pharmacy. That event generally closes the cancellation window and makes charges nonrefundable, with a specific exception for early cancellation of six- and twelve-month prepaid plans. For someone comparing its compounded GLP-1 offerings, understanding that sequence is more useful than looking only at the lowest advertised monthly figure.

This review examines Ondra’s public documentation consulted October 19, 2026, with particular attention to enrollment, payment authorization, recurring charges and responsibility when something goes wrong. The business documents access to compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide through independent clinicians and pharmacy partners. It also publishes meaningful pricing and refund details. However, differences between its marketing pages, FAQ and contractual language leave several questions worth resolving in writing before choosing a longer plan.

At a glance

Who provides care
Ondra’s terms assign clinical services to independent licensed healthcare providers and prescription fulfillment to independent pharmacies.

Lowest advertised equivalents
Approximately $96 for compounded semaglutide and $142 for compounded tirzepatide reflect twelve-month plans costing $1,149 and $1,699 upfront, respectively, with pharmacy restrictions.
Sources: [8] [11] [4]
Initial payment
The FAQ describes an initial authorization hold, finalized only after clinician approval and prescription issuance; an unapproved application results in release of the hold.
Sources: [4]
Cancellation boundary
Orders may be canceled before the prescription is sent to the pharmacy. A $25 nonrefundable consultation fee applies if review and prescription issuance have already occurred.

The agreement separates Ondra from the people treating you

Ondra’s homepage calls it a LegitScript-certified telehealth practice and names Wasef Health, PC and Arora Health & Aesthetics, LLC as care organizations. Its terms draw a different organizational boundary: Ondra is a nonclinical platform, while independent licensed healthcare providers deliver clinical services and independent pharmacies fulfill prescriptions. These descriptions should not be collapsed into a claim that Ondra itself prescribes or compounds medication. The certification statement is the company’s representation, not an independently verified finding here.

The terms identify Ondra Health Inc. at 355 S Grand Ave, Suite 2450, Los Angeles, CA 90071, with care@ondra.health as its contact email. The site identifies David Wasef, MD, as Wasef Health’s medical director and publishes his NPI. It says both clinical groups serve all 50 states, with eligible Puerto Rico patients additionally served through Wasef. Those geographic statements do not guarantee that every pharmacy or plan is available everywhere.

For a prospective patient, the practical issue is knowing which organization owns each obligation. A billing question, a treatment concern and a dispensing problem may involve different parties even when they share one enrollment experience. Our guide to mapping platform, clinician and pharmacy responsibilities explains that distinction. Before paying, ask which clinical group will review the application and which pharmacy is expected to fulfill the prescription; neither should be inferred from the homepage alone.

Enrollment is a review process, not a prescription promise

Ondra describes an online intake taking about three minutes and collecting health history, current medications, BMI and weight-loss goals. Its terms require applicants to be at least 18 or the local age of legal majority, whichever is greater, legally capable of contracting, and located where services are lawfully available. Applicants must provide truthful, accurate and complete information. Completing that intake establishes a request for review, not an entitlement to medication or a particular pharmacy.

The provider’s eligibility descriptions are not perfectly aligned. Its FAQ describes common prescribing criteria as BMI of at least 30, or at least 27 with a weight-related condition. Its eligibility questionnaire labels BMI 27–29.9 a standard pathway without mentioning that additional condition in the quoted description. Both leave the decision to clinician review. The difference is a reason to ask how the service evaluates an application, not to interpret the questionnaire as automatic approval.

Most applicants reportedly do not need an in-person appointment, but the clinician may require a phone or video visit based on location and care needs. Providers aim to review and respond to intake within 24 hours; that is an aim, not a guaranteed appointment or support-response deadline. Ondra also says laboratory requirements depend on individual history. The consulted documentation does not establish whether any required baseline or follow-up testing is included in the plan price.

The price comparison starts with the amount collected

Ondra’s lowest headline figures are rounded monthly equivalents of annual prepayments, not standalone monthly subscriptions at those amounts. Compounded semaglutide starts at approximately $96 per month through a $1,149 twelve-month payment; compounded tirzepatide starts at approximately $142 through a $1,699 twelve-month payment. Both are advertised as weekly subcutaneous self-injection treatments. The price pages say multi-month totals are paid upfront after prescribing, while a separate monthly plan remains available for each medication.

The table shows the published schedules before promotional adjustments. The FAQ says there is no introductory rate. Separately, the homepage advertises $15 off the first three-month tirzepatide plan using ONDRA15; its precise conditions should be confirmed at checkout rather than assumed to apply to renewals. Our explanation of monthly prices versus payment commitments is useful here: a divided monthly equivalent describes cost, while the plan’s collection schedule determines the immediate financial exposure.

Pharmacy restrictions narrow the choices. Optio RX offers monthly and two-month plans in all 50 states, but not Puerto Rico. Quarterly plans use other partners, and six- and twelve-month plans are available only through Hallandale Pharmacy and Vials RX. The plan duration alone does not establish exactly how much medication will arrive in each shipment. Longer-plan refund language refers to three-month supplies, but a complete shipment calendar for every long plan was not established.

Included services do not erase the payment conditions

Ondra says every plan includes provider consultation, medication, supplies and free shipping, with no membership fee and no price increase across doses. Its blog also describes ongoing provider messaging as included in the monthly price without per-visit billing for that messaging. These are useful inclusions, but they do not establish that every outside service is covered. In particular, the public documentation does not resolve laboratory costs or guarantee a response time for ongoing clinical messages.

The service does not currently accept insurance and describes its plans as out-of-pocket purchases. It accepts credit and debit cards as well as HSA and FSA payments. Acceptance of those payment methods should not be read as an individual reimbursement or tax determination. Ondra also advertises Klarna, Affirm and Afterpay installment options at checkout. Their availability, eligibility rules and specific installment terms are determined by the payment provider, rather than guaranteed by the advertised plan price.

The FAQ distinguishes a pending authorization from a completed charge. It says the initial hold validates the payment method, the charge is finalized after a licensed provider approves treatment and writes a prescription, and the hold is released if approval is denied. That is not a promise of cost-free cancellation after approval. The separate $25 consultation cancellation provision matters during the interval between prescription issuance and transmission to the pharmacy, even if no package has shipped.

Cancellation depends on order status and renewal timing

Ondra’s FAQ permits cancellation before the prescription is sent to the pharmacy and says that once it is sent, that order cannot be canceled. If a clinician has already reviewed the intake and issued a prescription, a $25 nonrefundable consultation fee applies. The instruction is to contact care@ondra.health immediately. That makes speed important, but the operative distinction is documented order status—not whether the medication has been packed, dispatched, delivered or used.

The terms say recurring plans renew automatically unless checkout states otherwise. Patients are responsible for canceling before the applicable renewal deadline, and processed charges are generally nonrefundable except where law or an express provision says otherwise. The consulted text does not supply one universal cancellation-notice interval. A prospective customer should obtain the actual renewal date and deadline shown for the selected plan, rather than assume that every monthly or multi-month option has the same cancellation mechanics.

The FAQ offers two cancellation routes: account settings in the patient portal or email to care@ondra.health. Canceling future renewals and recovering money from an existing order are separate requests. A useful confirmation would identify both the effective cancellation date and whether any prescription has already been transmitted. Our guide to cancellation notice and order status explains why retaining that distinction is more useful than relying on a general assurance that a plan can be canceled.

Long prepayments have a specific, limited refund exception

The refund policy generally makes charges final after a clinician approves the prescription and transmits it to a pharmacy for fulfillment. It explicitly directs early cancellations of six- and twelve-month prepaid plans to a separate rule. That exception is important: describing every Ondra payment as absolutely nonrefundable would be inaccurate. Equally, describing long plans as freely refundable would conceal the deduction that applies to supplies already committed to pharmacy fulfillment.

For those long plans, Ondra says it refunds the amount paid minus the regular quarterly price for each three-month supply already sent to the pharmacy. The quarterly price used is the one in effect when the plan was purchased. The prepaid discount does not apply to those already-sent supplies. This is not a simple refund of unused calendar months, and the trigger is transmission to the pharmacy rather than proof that the patient finished using the medication.

Monthly and quarterly processed charges are not prorated or refunded for unused time unless required by law. A three-month supply already sent for fulfillment remains nonrefundable even if medication is unused. Before prepaying, ask Ondra to identify the purchase-date quarterly price and how many supplies would count as sent at each stage. The guide to refund boundaries and exclusions offers a framework for reading these exceptions without confusing cancellation access with a money-back guarantee.

Pharmacy choice and delivery create additional boundaries

Ondra lets applicants request a preferred pharmacy, but options depend on state, medication, prescription and current availability; the provider and pharmacy make final decisions. Its directory describes no-additive formulations through Hallandale and Quaker Community/New Life RX, and formulations containing B3, B6, B12 or glycine through various other partners. Those are product descriptions, not evidence of clinical benefits from additives. The directory also marks Boudreaux and the Quaker/New Life option associated with Hyalo as temporarily unavailable.

Delivery language is inconsistent. The FAQ says medication typically ships within two to five business days after approval, while the pharmacy directory describes delivery within that interval after approval and transmission. Dispatch is not arrival, so neither wording should be converted into a dependable arrival date. Ondra says shipments contain labeled medication with pharmacy instructions, injection supplies, alcohol pads and discreet packaging. Free shipping does not remove the need to confirm availability or the actual fulfillment schedule.

For damaged, defective or materially incorrect orders, the policy requires email contact within 24 hours of delivery, with order details, an explanation and relevant photos. A package marked delivered but missing also must be reported within 24 hours of the recorded delivery time. Ondra may review matters with the pharmacy and fulfillment partners before deciding on replacement, credit or refund; no remedy is guaranteed. Separately, FDA advises not using injectable GLP-1 medication arriving warm or inadequately refrigerated and contacting the provider or dispensing pharmacy.

Ongoing access is documented more clearly than ongoing service levels

The patient portal at care.ondra.health supports provider messaging, shipment tracking, refill or dose-adjustment requests and account management. Those functions provide a defined route back into the service, but a request is not a guarantee that a prescription will be renewed or changed. Ondra’s public documentation does not establish support hours, a guaranteed response time for continuing clinical messages or Spanish-language service availability. Its approximately 24-hour intake-review target should not be extended to those other functions.

Clinical evidence is a separate boundary from contractual detail. Ondra acknowledges that the branded-drug trials presented on its site did not study its compounded formulations. FDA states that compounded preparations are not FDA approved and do not undergo its premarket review for safety, effectiveness and quality. FDA recommends compounded drugs when an individual’s medical needs cannot be met by an approved drug. Nonapproval alone does not establish clinical inequivalence, and clear pricing does not establish treatment effectiveness.

Before enrollment, the most productive unresolved questions concern the actual service configuration: clinical group, pharmacy, formulation, required testing costs, renewal deadline, shipment schedule and refund calculation. These are not requests for a promised medical outcome; they establish what is being purchased and who is responsible. NIDDK emphasizes that follow-up involves tolerance and response, not simply continued payments. Any decision to continue treatment therefore remains a clinical discussion distinct from whether a recurring charge is scheduled.

Questions & answers

Can I actually pay Ondra $96 or $142 each month?

Those figures are rounded equivalents for twelve-month prepaid plans, not the published monthly payment options. Compounded semaglutide costs $1,149 upfront for that plan; compounded tirzepatide costs $1,699. The standalone monthly prices are $149 and $219, respectively. Annual plans are limited to Hallandale and Vials RX, subject to availability. Checkout financing may allow installments, but its terms and eligibility come from the payment provider.

What if Ondra’s clinician does not approve my application?

The FAQ says the pending initial transaction is an authorization hold rather than a completed charge. Ondra says it finalizes payment after approval and prescription issuance and releases the hold if treatment is not approved. The consulted documentation does not establish when a released hold will disappear from an individual bank account. This situation differs from canceling after approval, when the consultation-fee and pharmacy-transmission rules can apply.

Sources: [4]
Can I cancel before my medication arrives?

Arrival is not the cancellation cutoff. Ondra says an order can be canceled before the prescription is sent to the pharmacy, but not afterward. A $25 nonrefundable consultation fee applies if review and prescription issuance have already occurred. Contact care@ondra.health immediately for an order cancellation. Separately, cancel recurring plans through portal account settings or email, and confirm that future renewals have stopped.

Sources: [4]
Does an annual plan refund unused months?

Not through a straight unused-month calculation. For early cancellation of six- or twelve-month prepayments, Ondra deducts the regular quarterly price in effect at purchase for each three-month supply already sent to the pharmacy. Those supplies lose the prepaid discount. The policy says already-sent quarterly supplies are nonrefundable even if medication remains unused. Ask for the applicable quarterly price and fulfillment status before assuming a refund amount.

Sources: [7]
Can I choose an additive-free medication or a particular pharmacy?

You can request a preferred pharmacy during intake, but Ondra does not promise that selection. State, medication, prescription and current availability determine the options, with final prescribing and fulfillment decisions belonging to the provider and pharmacy. The directory describes Hallandale as offering no-additive formulations. It also lists other formulations and temporarily unavailable partners, so a general pharmacy listing should not substitute for confirmation of the actual product offered.

Sources: [3]
What should I do about a missing or damaged shipment?

Ondra requires contact at care@ondra.health within 24 hours for damaged, defective or materially incorrect deliveries, and within 24 hours of the recorded delivery time for packages marked delivered but missing. Include identifying order information and relevant photos for product problems. A replacement, credit or refund follows review rather than being guaranteed. For an injectable arriving warm or insufficiently refrigerated, FDA advises not using it and contacting the provider or dispensing pharmacy.

Our assessment

Ondra offers more documentary detail than a headline-price comparison would suggest: it publishes multiple payment intervals, identifies included services, explains the initial authorization hold and provides a specific early-cancellation calculation for longer prepayments. Those disclosures help a prospective patient evaluate the transaction without assuming that all plans work alike. The main tradeoff is that lower monthly equivalents require larger plan purchases through restricted pharmacy channels, while refund rights depend on prescription and fulfillment milestones rather than unused time alone. Marketing and contractual descriptions also differ on organizational identity and shipping timing. Before enrolling, obtain written confirmation of the actual pharmacy, formulation, payment schedule, renewal deadline and any testing costs. Ondra’s documentation supports evaluating it as an access platform for compounded treatment; it does not independently establish clinical outcomes, verify every listed credential or guarantee a prescription.
